This statement explains how we may collect and use information about you through our website and our applicant onboarding platform. We do not seek to identify individual visitors unless they volunteer their contact details through one of the forms on the site, or through our applicant onboarding process (see “Bank Account Verification” below). These forms invite you to submit your contact details and other information about yourself or your organisation, or to send us emails which may, of course, also identify you. In each case, the purpose for which you are invited to give us information is clear and we also indicate where the requested information is essential for the relevant purpose and where it is optional – fields for essential information are marked with an asterisk. We will only use your details to send you information from PRISMCHECK UK that you have specifically requested. If you no longer wish to receive such information, our emails contain a link that will allow you to change or terminate your subscription to our email alerting service. Alternatively, you can let us know your preferences by sending an email to info@prismcheck.com. We will not use your information for purposes that are not clear when you provide your details, and will not disclose it outside PRISMCHECK UK, except in very limited circumstances and only with your agreement or where we are legally obliged to do so.
As part of our applicant onboarding process, where you apply for certain PRISMCHECK UK products (including our REAP FPO product), we may ask you to verify your bank account balance to confirm your eligibility.
What we collect. With your explicit consent, we use Plaid Financial Limited (“Plaid”), a regulated Open Banking service provider, to connect securely to your bank and retrieve your current and available account balance. We do not receive or store your online banking username or password — these are entered directly with your bank or via Plaid’s secure connection, and PRISMCHECK UK never has access to them.
What we store. We store only the resulting balance figure against your applicant record in our onboarding platform. We do not store your full Plaid data response, account or routing numbers, or your transaction history.
Why we collect it. This check is used solely to assess your eligibility for the specific financial product you are applying for. It is a one-off check performed at the point of application, not ongoing account monitoring.
Legal basis and consent. We only initiate this check with your clear, informed consent, given at the point of application. You may decline to proceed with the balance check, though this may mean we are unable to assess your eligibility for the relevant product.
Third-party processing. Plaid processes your bank connection under its own regulatory permissions as an Account Information Service Provider, authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Retention. We retain the stored balance figure only for as long as necessary to assess and record the outcome of your application, in line with our standard data retention practices, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights. You may request details of the balance information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting our data protection officer at info@prismcheck.com, subject to any legal or regulatory obligations that require us to retain certain records.
PRISMCHECK UK runs a global operation but its businesses are managed through various regional entities. When you provide information to PRISMCHECK UK, to the extent that this is capable of being accessed from different countries, we are committed to ensuring that any PRISMCHECK operation complies with local legislation and applies the same global standards regarding the security of data.
PRISMCHECK UK takes all reasonable security measures to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, destruction, misuse, modification or disclosure. As far as permissible under law, PRISMCHECK UK accepts no responsibility for the unauthorised access of personal information held by PRISMCHECK UK.
